If a particular command fails then please carefully re-read its documentation and in any case please see the build and install problem checklists as these cover real life issues I and others I've helped have experienced. Also please try to search the MAKEMSI archive as many questions have been answered.

Please supply as much details as possible and certainly include the operating system used as well as service pack level etc if known. The easiest way is to copy and paste the information obtained by using the "version information box" facility.

I do not want to hear "It does not work" unless you have explained what that means (what error messages or unwanted result occurred).

Unless you believe the problem to be trivial, I would like (please read the "Email Attachments" section):

1. A small self contained "test case (complete with ".ver" file etc) which I can invoke here which hopefully demonstrates the problem.

2. The "*.dbg.txt" file will also help a lot.

Please spell out the issue and not assume I can work it out. It helps if you not only indicate what you got but what you expected to happen (as frequently it is the "expectation" which is wrong).

The preferred way to report problems is via the MAKEMSI group!
