Local Security Settings Applet

This standard windows applet lets you adjust some machine and user policies.

You may need to use it when creating Windows schedules or services in which case you are probably most interested in opening user rights with "StartSettingsControl PanelAdministrative ToolsLocal Security PolicyLocal PoliciesUser Rights Assignment".

To name only a few of the settings you may be interested in:

Sometimes the Windows GUI will automatically give you rights, if active directory or some other process comes along and resets these then something that worked well for a while might suddenly stop...

Double click (or right clickProperties) to see its properties, if there is an "effective setting" column then this is what matters...
