COMPILE_TYPE

Please see the "options for commands" section of this manual for general information about the use of macros for configuration.

This allows you to choose to tell MAKEMSI to create external cabinet files rather than ones imbedded in the MSI.

This may be useful in some cases it might reduce the MSI "load" time and it would be required if your product needs to span multiple media.

There are many related macros, see the "TryMeWithMultipleMedia.MM" sample for more details.

Want Uncompressed MSI Image

If you want uncompressed external files (rather tyhan cabinets) then simply perform an administrative install on the MSI MAKEMSI generated (either cab type OK) and use the resultant "installed" image.
